ESFA Pokemon Primary Schools’ Cup – South West Regional Finals
We are incredibly proud to say that our football team have qualified for the National finals of the U11 Small Schools Cup. The South West Regional Finals took place in Keynsham on Saturday, school football teams travelled from all round the region from Cornwall to Berkshire including the Channel Islands! The Thornford team played five games: we were beaten by Pensford 0-1 and then beat St.John Fisher 2-0 and then beat Southwick 3-2. In the semi-final we played Berkshire and won on penalties. Pensford and Thornford played the nail biting final, which we unfortunately lost on penalties, but both schools go through to the Nationals. A total of 5000 schools enter the competition and only 24 go through to the National final, so we are delighted with the amazing result!
