Acorn class

News from week beginning 11th June

The Year One children practised looking for digraphs, trigraphs and split digraphs in nonsense words in preparation for their Phonics Check on Wednesday. They worked their socks off and all tried their hardest during the check. The Reception children have had a week focussing on reading and spelling tricky words.

We continued with Quick Maths and revised sharing and dividing. The children also made something secret ready for Sunday… PE has been preparing for School Games Day – the obstacle course has been a particular highlight!

The rest of the week has been based around preparing for our class assembly. They practised their public-speaking and acting skills, they learned a poem and a song, and had lots of ideas about how they wanted their own class assembly to be. We hope you enjoyed it – the children and staff had a fabulous time!
