Thornford  school rugby  team

On Friday the 14th October 2016, Thornford school’s year 6s battled against three other schools in Sherborne Area  tag rugby competition.

Game 1:

On the first game we played Sherborn primary, we were all excited because Mr Bartle, our old head teacher was now the head teacher of the team we were against. It started off well, as we were getting into the game, however; unfortunately we lost 2-5 but got two great tries from Scarlett and Neve, giving us a positive motivation.

Game2:

Our second game was against Bradford Abbas, which was a very close game, Thornford winning throughout, but we were pipped to the post in the last few seconds, losing 5-6. The tries came from Scarlett, Georgi, Neve and Eleeza scored 2.

Game 3:

On the last game we were happy, because we had played our best and were getting tired, but we were thinking positively. We played Yetminster and got tries from Sophie, Scarlett and Hope, ending the game in an unlucky loss of 5-3.

Overall, we played to the best of our abilities and really enjoyed ourselves considering we didn’t have as much practice as we would have liked, Thank-you to Mr Lewis and Miss Hanley for your help.
