beech class 4th November 2016
What have we been up to this week?
After a refreshing half term break, Beech Class have had a great week, learning about the Gunpowder plot and how we remember it today with Bonfire Night. We acted in role to help us to understand how the people involved might feel and then wrote about it in a diary or letter. We also wrote exclamation sentences describing fireworks and used command sentences to produce our own fireworks code. We combined Art and Computing to produce beautiful firework pictures which allowed us to use a range of brushes and see how colours combined.
In Maths, we have been using our knowledge of counting in different multiples to help us with sequences and problem solving. Today, the Year 1s filmed their own word problems for the Year 2s to work out and the Year 2s wrote word problems for each other, using statement and question sentences.
Here is a picture of our amazing Autumn display, showing our Autumn leaf printing. This display is in our cloakroom area for everyone to see.
