What have we been up to this week?

This week, the children designed their own character for our Willy and Hugh story, and thought about using a variety of adjectives to describe them.  They then wrote their own amazing stories that included their new character.  In Maths, both year groups have investigated the meaning of maths vocabulary.  Year 1s have enjoyed used their 20 frames to work with numbers between 10 and 20 and Year 2s have worked with their place value apparatus and on number sequences.

In other subjects, we have looked at an outline map of the United Kingdom and used atlases to help us label the countries and capital cities.  We combined Computing and Geography by using the iPads to take photographs of the school grounds, focusing on different points of the compass.  We hope to make a display of our photos soon.

Next week, we will be working on our contribution to the Harvest festival, which takes place in Thornford Church at 9.30.  We hope to see you there.
