beech class 25th May 2018
What have we been learning recently?
We’ve had an exciting couple of weeks in Beech Class. We finished creating our miniature worlds and were proud to show them in our sharing assembly. During SATS week, the Year 2 children worked very hard and enjoyed a well deserved break in the afternoons. The Year 1 children also enjoyed a chance to visit Acorn Class.
In English, we loved the story ‘Jim and the Beanstalk’ and it inspired us to write some amazing stories of our own. We also enjoyed using descriptive poetry as a model for our own poems.
In Maths, we have continued to work on multiplication and division through the maths mastery approach: using prior knowledge and reasoning to solve problems. We love working with our maths partners and sharing our ideas and explanations.
This week, we have thought about fairness and diversity in the world around us, including learning more about Nelson Mandela and celebrating the differences between families.
Have a lovely half term everyone!
