Acorn class 14th July 2017
News from week beginning 10th July
Even though this is our last full week, we’re still going strong!
In Maths we learned about division and sharing equally. We used the Maths Bingo app on the iPads, cakes, teddies and dinosaurs to help us with our dividing.
In English we had a fabulous time hearing, discussing and writing our own fantasy stories. The joy of fantasy stories is there is no end to what can happen, our imaginations can go wild! The children used some lovely story language such as unfortunately, luckily and suddenly, and they used punctuation such as ellipses (dot, dot, dots!) and repeated words (One dark, dark night) to create drama and excitement.
The children loved creating their own jungle music on the field (see main photo), carefully considering which instruments make the right sort of sound for which animal. We all ended up with smiles on our faces (and pain in our heads!).
We’ve been busy practising our races for Sports Day on Monday – we look forward to seeing you all there.
Have a super weekend
