beech class 12th May 2017
What have we been up to this week?
This week has been very busy (as always!). The Year 2 children worked very hard on some independent assessments whilst the Year 1s worked with the other Year 1 children in Acorn. We are all enjoying reading the story of ‘Flat Stanley’ by Jeff
Brown. Today we were inspired to write our own chapter of his story, where Flat Stanley foils some art thieves, based on events from the book. There are other stories involving the same characters and we are looking forward to reading about Flat Stanley in space!
There is no additional homework this week. The children have another week to complete their research about space, which should be brought to school by the 19th May. Year 2 children have less spelling words than usual, but they need to use each word in a sentence to demonstrate that they understand its meaning and when to use it.
