beech class 10th February 2017
What have we been up to this week?
We’ve immersed ourselves in Maths this week, particularly multiplication and division. After lots of practice at home and school, the children challenged themselves to see how many of their times tables they could remember (out of order!) in 5 minutes. The Year 1s all managed to do their 10s and 2s and some even moved on to their 5s. The Year 2s all did their 10s, 2s and 5s and some challenged themselves further with the 3, 4 and even 6 times table. Wow! Everyone earned 5 team points for their hard work and enthusiasm. They have brought a copy of their sheets home to show, and to work on if they’d like.
On Wednesday, we took part in the RSPB Big Schools’ Birdwatch, splitting ourselves into teams and observing the birds in our grounds for an hour. It was great to see the variety of birds that came to feed. In other news, we’ve aged our Titanic written work for display and thought more about the hot and cold parts of the world.
We are all ready for a well deserved half term holiday!
