Acorn class 23rd June 2016
News from week beginning 20th June
Wow, what a week. We planned then wrote fantasy stories in Literacy, we revised odd and even numbers and found arrays in our classroom in Maths. We identified and compared different types of animals in Science and continued with our handwriting, tricky words and harder sounds in phonics.
However…the definite highlight for the children and us was when our first butterfly had hatched. The children were so excited when I brought the net house over to show them the butterfly, who, at this point, was still and with its wings closed.
Then, something magical happened! We whispered “Hello Mr Butterfly” at which point it climbed up to the top of the lid it was on and stretched out its wings and flapped the beautiful colours at us. Here is the children’s reaction…
A moment that will stay with us all a very long time.
Have a wonderful weekend
