Acorn class 27th May 2016
News from week beginning 23rd May
As you can see from the attached images, we had a visit from Sherborne Girls who performed the original Cinderella story, Ashputtel. The performers were talented and professional and our children were enthralled. Thank you Sherborne Girls!
We had fun with more doubling and halving in Maths as well as concentrating on the value of each coin and note in our money session. In Literacy we wrote instructions, using “bossy verbs”, about how to make chocolate crispie cakes after making them and eating them, on a very special day…
We finished our broad bean diaries – we now know how to grow a broad bean and that they can grow in the dark. The broad bean seed we planted in the dark still sprouted and started to grow but please ask the children how different the leaves were. Another surprise for us was that they even grow in sealed containers!
We finished off sewing our puppets and they are very proudly and colourfully on display in the classroom. We learned about the four countries in the UK and used instruments to explore tempo in our music session. We were very proud of our performance, reciting our chosen poems, during the Parents’ Assembly. We hope you liked Squeezes…
Have a super half term!
